Her dream became her passion, and now Debbie Griffiths shares with others how to realize their dreams while maintaining balance in life.  Audiences are inspired by the boundless energy that propelled her to build a multi-million dollar business in record time ... and they are warned to avoid the pitfall that Debbie experienced along with millions of Americans - the national epidemic of work addiction.

Debbie's path to passion and millions was not easy.  Burdened with thick lens glasses, dotted with freckles, shy and uncertain, short in stature, reared on the wrong side of the tracks by a family affected by alcohol - Debbie's path did not seem to be headed for success.

The dream that became her passion emerged from a very real life crisis - a nightmare some would say - the tragic death of Debbie's fiancé just days before their wedding.  Debbie tells her story of overcoming grief, persistent feelings of rejection, unworthiness, and paralyzing fears to realize her dream of becoming an amazingly successful entrepreneur.  She followed her dream, fulfilled her passion, and, in the process, led her company to the very top!

Thank God It's Monday!  ...
The Seven Destructive Habits of Work Addicted People

We often joke about our busy schedules, pride ourselves on our busy-ness, and even compare ourselves to others to be sure we're as busy - or even busier - than other people.  In this presentation, Debbie focuses on seven signs of work addiction or busy-ness.  The audiences for this talk range from corporate to parent groups to retirees (yes, work addiction is still an issue for many retirees!).  Although presented in a 'lighter' tone and with a good dose of humor, Debbie does not side-step the seriousness of work addiction.  She offers practical solutions for each of the 'seven destructive habits,' as well as resources for those who realize they may have a more serious level of work addiction issues.

Little Lady, Big Dream

Debbie's fascinating life story began with a childhood that in no way foreshadowed her future success.  As a young woman she experienced great love and hope which were suddenly crushed by devastating tragedy.  Her subsequent career path also gave no indication of her future entrepreneurial endeavors.  When Debbie developed her passion and her vision and began to share her ideas, supporters and encouragers were few and far between.  Yet Debbie had a clear vision and stayed the course despite all odds.  While still in her forties Debbie had built a multi-million dollar business, providing a better lifestyle for her clients, multitudes of jobs, and becoming a much-loved hometown hero.  Debbie's story is motivational and inspiring to anyone who would dare to follow a "Big Dream."

"As the saying goes, 'You can't judge a book by its cover.' How true this is for the author, Debbie Griffiths. She truly is a "little lady" but one who had enormous dreams that could only come true as a result of her faith and determination. Her life has been filled with mountains to overcome; but, on the other side of each, a blessing sat there waiting for her. She dug her heels in and proved to the world she could do whatever she  set her mind to do. As a result, she dreamed big and brought to reality those dreams in the form of Southern Pines Retirement Inn. Whatever your stature and whatever your dream, you'll be inspired by Debbie's story."

In Her Own Words  . . .

"My greatest personal desire was to design, build, decorate and operate my own assisted living residence. Southern Pines became a dream come true for me!

"In 1995, I struck out on my own, took huge financial risks and hoped for the best. I was determined to become a successful female entrepreneur. In just five months, Southern Pines Retirement Inn, with its 24 assisted living suites, was designed and built to perfection. Today Southern Pines, an eight-acre campus, is home to over 100 residents and provides employment for 65-plus employees with a million-dollar annual payroll."
