Professional Speaker Training 101 is an intensive, practical, how-to manual for those who aspire to become professional speakers and for established speakers who want to take it to a new level.  It is for those desiring to speak part-time, as well as for the speaker who desires to make speaking their full-time profession or ministry.

The valuable information in this book comes from my many years of experience as a professional speaker and,
as founder and booking agent at The Robinson Agency Christian speakers bureau, it is most importantly based on daily communication with event planners across the United States - corporate, community, and church event planners of all types.

It is my "job" to know what event planners are looking for ... what they like, what turns them away from a potential speaker, and, sometimes, things about a speaker's marketing materials or about the speaker themselves that the event planner does not even realize are affecting their choice yet carry a tremendous amount of weight in their selection of a speaker.

This book is full of information shared with me in daily phone conversations with actual event planners nationwide over the past several years - what they look for in a speaker, what most influences them to select a certain speaker, their biggest pet peeves about speakers (during the booking process, at the event, and post-event), and much more.

I started my speakers bureau because, as an event planner who hosted regular networking gatherings for other event planners, I knew that we were all eager to find excellent speakers but weren't quite sure how to find them and where to look for them.  We all had horror stories of speakers we had booked because they were a friend of a friend - and the speaker turned out to be, shall we say, less than advertised.

It was clear to me that event planners wanted someone they could trust to recommend speakers who had been thoroughly pre-screened and could be counted on to provide an excellent presentation, behave professionally on and off the platform, and work with the event planner to make the event a success.  That is how The Robinson Agency was born.

Having been an event planner before I became a speaker or a speakers bureau owner, I approach this 'from both sides of the lectern' and am delighted to provide
